Print Management Systems
Gift Creations Concepts Newspaper Insert Project.
This imprint project was done in partnership with Gift Creations Concepts (GCC).
GCC designed the newspaper insert and provided artwork and information for our web sites.
They also operated an order center that actively telemarketed the insert to their
dealers nationally. Orders were taken using the web, fax and telephone. The staff at GCC used
a Sells designed web site to enter orders.
A unique aspect of this project was not only did the dealers specify the imprint
for their store, they also were able to select pricing for products shown in the
insert. The ordering web site provided them with a range of suggested prices that they could pick
for each product. Each printed insert was therefore tailored to the marketplace conditions
of the dealer.
Multiple Sells-built web sites were
used in this project, with various access levels for GCC and the Sells management,
production, and Digital Products staffs.
Sells:
- built an order management web site to collect dealer orders.
- processed the imprint and order data
- printed dozens of insert variations
- shipped and tracked the orders
- provided billing data to GCC.
As the inaugural use of the web for GCC dealers, a special web site was designed that helped
guide the ordering process. In many cases GCC staff would work with a dealer over the telephone
to get their order data into the web site. Having "live" telephone support significantly reduced
order errors, especially for people not very familiar with web-based commerce.
A project management web site provided real-time statistics as the project progressed so
that GCC could track which dealers had ordered and who had yet to be contacted about the
program.
Various Sells Digital Tools compiled the imprint and sales price data for layout. The tools
guided the orders through our bindery, making sure the various shipping dates were met so the
inserts would arrive for insertion at the right time.
Once packages shipped, tracking information was available through a web site so any problems could
be resolved quickly.
Order summary info was complied using Sells Digital Tools so that GCC could bill the
participating dealers.
